- Dan Beard is a week-long first year camper program that offers full day instruction and testing of Scout skills, including visits to most of the major areas in camp. The emphasis of the program is on skills, the patrol method, and FUN. Scouts in this program will have the opportunity to learn many of the skills required to complete the Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First class ranks as well as complete the Nature, Swimming, and Leatherwork merit badges. The culmination of the week will be a 5 mile patrol hike and a cook your own lunch.
- Merit Badges are offered in our staffed program areas including Scoutcraft, Handicraft, Pool, Lake, Ecology, Archery, Rifle/Shotgun Range, and Sports.
- COPE the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience is a week-long High Adventure program with half day sessions offering activities from leadership and trust games to the high ropes course. Scouts must be at least 14 years of age and have a class 3 medical with them in camp to participate.
- Patrol method cooking is available for those troops or patrols that want to experience the cook-your-own style resident camp formerly offered at Firestone Camp. Troops or patrols can choose this option for any number of meals including the entire week, but we ask that at least 24 hours notice is given (or as close to 24 hours as possible) so that the dining hall can ensure they have the food ready on time. Those that wish to choose this option should talk to their camp commissioner to make these arrangements. Any units that do not have the right cooking equipment can talk to the quartermaster about borrowing the equipment they need.
- Over 20 miles of hiking trails wind all over the 4623 acres that is Resica Falls Scout Reservation. Buddies, patrols, or troops can plan hikes going anywhere on reservation including Firestone, Little Falls, several beaver dam locations, lookout point, and signal mountain. Troops can also opt to hike anywhere on reservation as part of an overnight outpost experience, and even choose to cook a patrol method style meal on their outpost or day hike. Troops that wish to choose these options should talk to their camp commissioner to make these arrangements. The camp commissioner can also help plan a hike or help choose a good outpost site.
- Camp wide events occur throughout the week including an opening campfire, closing campfire, scout vespers, OA call out, OA induction and brotherhood ceremonies, camp wide games, and more.
- Adult leader activities are offered throughout the week including training such as Homesickness, Youth Protection, and Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat. There are also going to be a variety of adult leader competitions and activities. Some examples of things done in the past include a chili cook off, a dessert cook off, and a golf club making and driving contest.
- Many other activities are available throughout the week such as mountain biking, mountain boarding, and a 7am polar bear swim. Troops or patrols can go swimming at remote swimming holes such as piano pool, fossil rock, and chapel pool. Troop activities such as troop swims in our pool, troop boating at Lake Roger, troop shoots at the rifle range, shotgun range, or archery range are also available. Troops can also sign up a team for the legendary water polo tournament for the hopes at a chance to beat the staff. Troops or patrols can also make a team to challenge other troops or the staff at different sports such as football, ultimate frisbee, and soccer.
- Second week incentives are in place for those that want to enjoy more than one week at camp. Scouts that have paid and participated in any week-long summer Cradle of Liberty Council resident camp or High Adventure program can return for another week the same summer at a discounted price.
- Anything else that you might want to do is possible: simply bring any ideas to your camp commissioner. If you can dream it we'll do everything in our power to make it happen.
